  • The Good Ole Days (and the not so good)

When a person starts writing about the "good ole days " it puts them in a certain age bracket. Lately I find myself remembering funny things that happened in my childhood .I go down memory lane and remember my brown ribbed stockings that I wore. They came well above the knee and had to be held up some way.My mother scorned those mothers who had their girls wear garters (usually an elastic band that dug in painfully behind the knee)so she made me a contraption she called a harness to keep my stockings up. It had straps over my shoulders and ended in 4 dangling ends that had those little rubber metal supporters that hooked into the top of ones stocking-two per leg.I went around from fall till spring with my brown long stockings hitched to my harness.I can remember setting on a cellar step weeping while Mom washed down there and I had my harness all tangled up and couldn't get dressed till someone untangled it.THEN tights came into style about the time I was in the 5-6th grade. But I was allowed to only wear the ugly tan ones that looked like old lady support hose. I attended public school and yearned for some pretty blue.green,or better yet RED tights like all my friends wore. Well I had a stroke of luck-one of my pairs of tan tights got in the wash with something bright blue that bled and I was the proud owner of tights that were the sickest shade of tanny /blue imaginable. I wore them with great pride !! Then came the agonies of long leg panty girdles and black nylons and the then pantyhose. I think I developed a fierce dislike for hose in general starting young and almost never wear them. Ahhh... the comfort and and ease ................It is wonderful !!

  • The Tale Of Two Dogs

Since I have been raising dogs the last three years,I have learned that they have definite personalities and are a whole lot like people.Enter two Yorkie girls,Bodangus and Ginger. We were at a dog sale in Missouri and I left the bidding tent briefly(probably visiting"Higdon") and when I got back David proudly announced that he bought me a dog and she had 7 pups her last litter.Well I was surprised at the news and went to see what he purchased and it was the biggest ,homeliest, gangliest Yorkie I had about ever seen with one flopped ear and she came with the name Bodangus .I had to squelch my comments about her looks,so we brought her home . We had gotten Ginger in Florida before and she was a beauty, all little and golden.Well ,Ginger didn't have any puppies for a year and I was ready to fix her up to take pictures and sell her for a pet and I realized she was pregnant. She had to have a C-section and produced one BIG male. But for all her cuteness she lacked any motherly instinct at all for her baby. She would hardly even look at him much less keep him clean and if he was'nt so aggressive he would have died from hunger. Well I cleaned and helped him go potty for a couple days to see if she'd kick in . Finally I took him out to the kennel to see if another Mama would adopt him. First I tried Shiloh,a Lhasa, and she got all upset at the little intruder . Finally I put him in with Bodangus and her 4 babies and she did'nt hesitate a moment and started cleaning him and smiled and welcomed him in her little family.See her smile??Meanwhile I put Ginger back in her familiar spot and she was so happy .She was rid of that squeaky pesty baby !! I guess some females are just meant to be ornamental.Bless sweet Bodangus -she smiles at me and keeps loving her own puppies and her little adopted boy......

  • Puppies 271 Puppies 166 Puppies 213 Puppies 247 Puppies 255 It's been a long time since I wrote on Xanga. Puppies 165 It seems that most everyone has migrated to Facebook, but I still enjoy the longer, more interesting Xanga messages. My life has been extremely busy the last months .Three little ones are lots of JOY but lots of work too. They are looking for a adoptive home and we're hoping that they can all be placed together. My little dog breeding business has gotten bigger .Puppies puppies everywhere...I mainly have Toy breeds but we bought 3 AKC Labs and they had 23 puppies. We have 2 females and they had their litters 3 days apart. Chocolates,Yellows and Blacks .Any duck hunters out there?? I prefer the little dogs, and I think our cutest puppies are the Shichons a Shih Tzu/Bichon mix. They look like little teddy bears. The Yorkies and Morkies have their own cuteness too. I really enjoy them but it keeps me busy.... It was almost 70* today and a treasure for January. I was out in sandals and short sleeves!! I almost feel bad enjoying my blessings when so many are suffering in Haiti. Pray that somehow those people will turn their hearts toward the Savior of mankind.

  • Summer In The South

David has a little orchard that gives him great satisfaction . He has all sorts of fruit . Here is a picture of one of the trees loaded with peaches . It is only around 5-6 ft tall and had 135 peaches on it.He said if all Christians would bear fruit so abundantly.......xanga 004
